Wheels Up: We're Headed to California to Finish Our Formulas

Hi friends,

As we write this, we're somewhere over the country with our headphones in, a snack tray full of treats, and a bag packed with way too many tasting notes. Today we're flying to California for our final round of formulation R&D. This is the trip where Mockadrop goes from "almost" to "this is it."

We wanted our very first blog post to be a real behind-the-scenes look. You've been following along since the beginning, and this is a big one.

Why we're going in person

We could have done this over email. We've done a lot of it over email. But flavor is personal, and a note like "a little more peach" or "brighter lime" only goes so far on paper. We wanted to be in the room, tasting side by side and tweaking until each drop tastes exactly how we pictured it.

Every Mockadrop flavor has to pass one test: when you add it to water or sparkling water, it should taste like the cocktail it's inspired by. That means no sugar, no calories, and no compromise.

What we're working on

We're finalizing all three launch flavors:

🍑 Peach Margarita. Juicy peach with a bright citrus kick and that little sour bite that makes a margarita a margarita.

🥥 Coconut Mojito. Creamy coconut, fresh mint, and lime. Vacation in a glass.

🍒 Berry Dirty Shirley. Cherry, berry, and a hint of nostalgia. It's the grown-up version of the drink you begged for as a kid.

This week we'll taste, adjust, re-taste, and sign off on the final versions of each one.

Two best friends, one mission

If you know us, you know this is where we're happiest: side by side, tasting, laughing, and chasing that moment when a flavor just clicks. We taste every version together, talk through every note together, and nothing gets signed off until we look at each other and say "that's the one."

That's how Mockadrop has worked from day one. We started this company as best friends who wanted something fun to sip that didn't come with a hangover, and that's exactly what we're protecting in every decision we make this week.

Why this trip matters

After this, our formulas are done. That means we're one big step closer to production and one big step closer to getting Mockadrop into your hands.
